On April 22, 2025, Maine Veterans for Peace participated in the first day of A Journey for Peace & Friendship and joined the walk. A Journey for Peace & Friendship was a 7-day multi-faith, cross cultural prayer walk, honoring the dignity and sacredness of every living being. The full walk occurred from April 22-29, 2025, beginning on Earth Day at the Penobscot Nation Boat Landing at Wabanaki Way, Indian Island, Maine, where the first Peoples of this land welcomed all to Wabanaki territory in a ceremony of peace and friendship. The purpose of the event was to kindle moral courage, kindness and connection. The event was organized by the Land Peace Foundation.
